a moment to remember
actually intended to blog yesterday night...but then i was too tired to type anything then...thus...shall leave it to blog today...yesterday night..i finally finished e movie 'a moment to remember'..ermm or oso known as earser in the head...actually this is quite an old korean movie..tink is screened on 2004..so..i tink i am 2 years late in seeing it...haha...aniwae...is really such a nice movie...wonder why i didnt notice it b4..by e title of e movie...actually we can more or less guess e plot of e story...and like any other korean drama...e cliche story of one losing his/her memory is used in this show too...but this time..is not due to any accident or whatsoever..is due to e female lead having a rare, genetic form of Alzheimer's Disease...something like senile dementia..and she is only 27yrs old...
e story started off with e female lead (su-jin) at a train station..waiting for her boyfriend..who is already married...to 'elope' with her...as expected..tt guy didnt turn up..then e scene proceeded to a 'family mart' store..where su-jin and e male lead (chui-soo) met...and they got married..i shall not go into details of e movie...if not this entry will be very long...after su-jin found out tt she would slowly lose all her memory..memories of her family..friends...herself..and even simple things like getting dressed or gg to toilet..she was devastated...chui-soo soon noe e truth when he realised tt su-jin was getting more and more forgetful..they both met at a place t they used to date...su-jin told e truth herself to chui-soo by telling him tt 'there is an eraser in my head'...
'we meet due to forgetfulness..and we had to part due to forgetfulness'..this is one of e classic lines of su-jin..and of cos..chui-soo did not agree to e divorce...although they still live together..but su-jin is becoming more and more forgetful...including greeting chui-soo by e name of her ex-bf...as su-jin realised it herself tt she is gg to 4get chui-soo soon...she chose to leave...
last scene of e movie is at e 'family mart' store..when chui-soo finally found su-jin..who had now already forgotten everything...as su-jin entered e store..she slowly recalled everything...as everyone in e store are ppl she knew...including her doctor...an old man who brought up chui-soo...her mum sis dad..her mother-in-law...and lastly chui-soo...e show ended off with both of them in a car...and chui-soo saying sarang heyo to su-jin...
throughout e whole movie...especially after e first 60mins...more and more crying scenes emerged...most touching scene is of cos e last scene...normally for shows...e most i will only hav tears filled up in my eyes..but for this..is really crying...in e last scene..there is no beautiful or touching lines...jux a quiet take of all familiar ppl of su-jin and herself..
aniwae this movie is currently available at youtube...and i finally finished what i was gg to write...actually to write out one's feelings is really difficult..emotions attached to this show is actually not as simple as how i put it above..jux tt i jux cant seem to find e right words of what i intended to say..so it may not seem as touching if anyone jux read what i typed...
to end...i shall say tt whether memories are tt impt..is still a 2-sided qn...with intact memories..one may live more fulfilling and be happier...or may live with sadness due to unhappy past...actually everyone of us would definitely hav unhappy moments in us...impt is what we choose to remember...without any memory may be devastating like e movie above..but then seeing it on e other side of e coin..tt person had in turn gained a chance to live anew again....to start living again may be what some of us wanted isnt it???
